Facts about web development

Let’s start with a few facts about web development that you should need to know before you get started web development is one of the most popular industries in the world.  It’s also one of the few industries that hasn't been affected as much by COVID most web developers are allowed to work remotely from their home or anywhere. In terms of salary according to indeed.com, linkdin.com the average salary of a web developer in the US is just over 78 000 a year, but that doesn't mean that as soon as you finish reading a book on the programming you're going to get a job with that kind of salary as a junior developer you're probably going start with sixty thousand dollars a year as you get more experience your salary can go up to one hundred thousand dollars a year or even more. Also if you don't like working for others you can work as a freelancer so you can get projects from people you know or you can search for projects on freelancing websites where people look for developers.

So these are all the great things about web development you can work from home or any location. the salary is great and you can choose to work for yourself now out of all this what matters the most to you what is inspiring you to become a web developer is it the salary the flexibility or freelancing let me know in the comments below. I would love to know what you think now as an insider let me tell you some of the challenges you might come across web development is very competitive. if you're starting out you might face some difficulty getting your first job it's usually the first job that is hardest to get because your portfolio is empty but as you add more projects to your portfolio and get more skilled getting jobs will become easier as well now don't let that discourage you it's estimated that there are almost 24 million developers around the world.

If these people could get a job so can you just have to be determined also you should know that web development is a fast-paced Industry. So you often have to learn new things new languages new tools new ways of doing things. If you're passionate about learning it won't be a problem at all but if you want to learn something simple and do it over and over for the rest of your life. Well you're just going to have fewer job opportunities and one more thing web development and programming in general requires sitting for long hours in front of a computer. If you find that boring and you would rather socialize with people well programming is not for you. I’m just being honest with you now do you need a degree well it depends companies like apple and google don't care about your degree as long as you can easily demonstrate that you have the required skills as a full-stack developer.

I have a master's degree plus a bunch of Microsoft certifications but none of my previous employers ever asked me for those papers but there are other companies out there that require you to have a degree in computer science or software engineering. In my opinion a good employer should care about your skills and knowledge and not a piece of paper. So in reality yes there are companies that require you to have a degree but there are many other companies that don't care about your degree as long as you can demonstrate your skills okay. Now let's talk about what you need to learn to become a web developer. Well first you need to decide what kind of web development you want to do every website has two parts a frontend and a back end.

FrontEnd

The frontend is the part that you see in your browser and interact with all the visual aspects. In frontend we have apparent design, layout and content of website. Mostly HTML, CSS, JAVSCRIPT etc. used in frontend, however it depends on language which you have chosen.

Backend

The backend is the part that powers the frontend it's behind the scenes and is mainly about storing data in databases and providing it to the frontend. Backend used to manage website. Administrator can add, edit and delete content from backend. People who are expert and best in programming language having more interest to develop backend. In backend mainly following programming languages used. PHP, MySQL, SQl, WordPress, Custom CMS, Joomla, Open Cart, Drupal and many others.

Full Stack Development

Full stack development is something you want to consider after you've been in the industry for at least a year.

Full-stack developer works in both frontend and backend of website. He has expertise in both front-end and back-end. As full-stack developer one should be excellent in database queries and relationships.

As you know full stack developer can build both front and back-end, he can build client and server software.

Apart from full-stack developer we have some other stacks as well.

  • LAMP stack: Linux , Apache , MySQL and PHP
  • LEMP stack: Linux ,Nginx , MySQL and PHP
  • MEAN stack: MongoDB , Express , AngularJS and Node.js
  • Django stack: Python , Django and MySQL
  • Ruby on Rails: Ruby , SQLite and Rails

Next I will upload complete lecture on these stacks one by one separately.

So web development jobs fall into three main categories front-end development back-end development and full-stack development which involves both front-end and back-end development if you're starting out you should just focus on front-end or back-end full-stack development is something you want to consider after you've been in the industry for at least a year or two now what is easier front-end or back-end development well it really depends who you ask some people find front-end development pretty straightforward whereas other people are more comfortable with back-end.
